On the occasion of International Poetry Day, we celebrate the creativity and beauty of words through a recital featuring selected verses: "Memories... Experiences... Poems...", performed by actor Eugen Țugulea, laureate of the UNITER award for a lifetime dedicated to theater and poetry.

The first poetry performance by actor Eugen Țugulea took place in 1969: "Folk Ballads and Gypsy Songs," which included a selection of folk-inspired ballads and a collage of texts taken from Miron Radu Paraschivescu's debut volume. After a 30-year hiatus from such performances, he returned to poetry in 2000 with a recital dedicated to Mihai Eminescu, marking the "International Year of Eminescu". This pivotal moment led him to explore other valuable poets and provide the people of Oradea with the opportunity to experience their poetry on the theater stage. In total, he has performed 10 poetry recitals featuring the works of Romanian poets, with the only exception being "For a Happy Man, Years On End...," a tribute to Michelangelo Buonarroti.

This year, the event holds a profound sentimental note, as the performance offers a retrospective of the poetry recitals he has conducted over the years on the theater stage, during which he will recite the verses closest to his heart. These lyrical moments will be enriched with stories, memories, and experiences associated with each poem, narrated with wisdom and humor.

The verses of the following poets will be recited:

  • Miron Radu Paraschivescu
  • Mihai Eminescu
  • George Topîrceanu
  • Michelangelo Buonarroti
  • Nichita Stănescu
  • Tudor Arghezi
  • Octavian Goga
  • George Coșbuc

Premiere Date: March 21st, at 7:00 PM, Arcadia Hall
Duration of the performance: 1 hour and 30 minutes.
